On June 18, 2008 Suffolk County Legislator Ed Romaine

presented IRIE wih a PROCLAMATION  HONORING KARUSH.

The proclamation reads in part;

"Whereas, last December, IRIE lost one of their finest and the leader of their Dream Team, Karush, a confident, sure-footed, strong and kind horse who was referred to as a miracle worker by many families; at IRIE Karush means "confidence," and in an effort to keep his legacy alive, IRIE has introduce "Karush Therapy" in his honor; and

Whereas, Suffolk County having a sincere respect and admiration for those who contribute of themselves so generously and professionally, wishes to honor Karush and the dedicated staff of IRIE as they continue their mission in assisting those less fortunate; and now therefore be it

Resolved, that I, Edward P. Romaine, on behalf of the Suffolk County Legislature, hereby extend our congratulations and commendation to Karush and declare the Eighteenth Day of June, Two Thousand and eight in the First Legislative District to be Karush Day."
